Privacy

Which pages you read on a dermatology site is sensitive by nature. Someone reading about moles at two in the morning is telling you something about themselves that they have not agreed to tell anyone. The site is built so that it does not learn it.

What this site collects

The pages are static files. There is no account, no login, no comment system, no newsletter sign-up and no form that asks you anything about your skin or your health. No cookie is set by this site for advertising, analytics or profiling. No tracking script is embedded in the pages, which is unusual enough on a health site to be worth stating rather than implying.

Fonts are served from this site rather than from a third party, so viewing a page does not announce the visit to anyone else.

Server logs

The host, o2switch, keeps ordinary web server logs as part of running the service. These are the technical records any web server produces. They exist to operate and secure the site, and they are not used to build any picture of who reads what, which is the use that would matter here given what the subject of this site is.

If you write to us

Email sent to contact@dermatology-clinic.net reachesFrançois Castellani and is used to answer you, and for nothing else. It is not added to any mailing list and is not passed on. Please do not send descriptions of your own condition, photographs of your skin or medical records: nobody here is able to look at them usefully, and it is better for you if they never exist in this inbox at all.

Links to other sites

Following a link to another site puts you under that site's privacy arrangements rather than this one. Public bodies and commercial sites both differ widely in what they collect, and that is worth a glance before you fill anything in.

Your rights

Data protection law in the United Kingdom gives you rights over personal data held about you, including access, correction and erasure. This site holds essentially nothing beyond correspondence you have chosen to send, so exercising those rights is usually a matter of asking for an email thread to be deleted. Write to the address above and it will be.

Changes

If this page changes, the change will be visible here rather than announced retrospectively. Anything that would broaden what is collected would be a substantive change and would be described as such.
